Jimmie Brogger

Obituary of Jimmie Brogger

Jimmie Walter Brogger, age 36 of Kiowa, Colorado passed away Friday, August 3, 2012 in Ogallala, Nebraska. He was born June 27, 1976 in Hugo, Colorado, the son of Kent David and Kim Diane (Stone) Brogger. He grew up in Bennett, Colorado and graduated from Kiowa High School in 1995. Jimmie has worked the past seven years as an engineering technician for the Parker Water and Sanitation District in Parker, Colorado. On April 3, 1997, Jimmie was united in marriage to Amber Leigh Decker in Parker, Colorado. They shared over fifteen years of marriage. To this union they shared seven children, Nolan David, Baylie Lloyd, Kolin Walter, Hanna Renee, Wesley Hardin, Austin Lee, and Haily Lynn. Jimmie was a very active and involved father to his children. He loved them and found the time to make each one of them feel special. His family meant everything to him; he was heavily involved in all of their activities. He took extreme pride in helping coach his children’s football, baseball, and basketball teams. He was very passionate about all his children’s athletic events and rarely missed a game. Jimmie enjoyed reading books, especially westerns by his favorite author Louis L'amour. He also enjoyed watching movies and made a tradition of watching a t.v. show or a movie with his wife and all of their kids every night. His favorite movie of course was Larry McMurtry's western series "Lonesome Dove.” Jimmie was a huge fan of the Broncos, Nuggets, and Buffs. He always enjoyed getting together with his dad, Kent, (CSU Ram fan) for the annual Colorado and Colorado State rival football game. They enjoyed each others competitive bantering during the game and always had a good time with one another. Jimmie also had a special and unique bond with his mom, Kim. They were there for each other no matter what. He was a best friend to his sister, Jessie, and so many others. He made everybody’s life deeper and richer for knowing him and for that, Jimmie's spirit and character will continue on in all that knew him. There are so many stories of character, love, and strength in Jimmie’s life; stories that will be shared and memories that will bring his loved ones together. Jimmie had much more to do here on earth, but he taught those he loved how to be strong. He showed everybody that character is not built during adversity and chaos, it’s revealed. His strength in love for his wife, Amber, all of his children, his family and his friends will stay in their hearts and thoughts forever… Jimmie was preceded in death by his great-grandparents; his cousin, Mickie Sue Kraft; and father-in-law, Lloyd Vincent Decker III. He is survived by his loving wife, Amber; his seven children, Nolan, Baylie, Kolin, Hanna, Wesley, Austin, and Haily; his parents, Kent and Kim Brogger, of Elizabeth, Colorado; his sister, Jessie, and brother-in-law, Ryan Mamos, and their children, Camden and Louella, of Elbert, Colorado; grandparents, Jim and Lois Stone, of Karval, Colorado; aunt and uncle, Doug and Connie Stone and family of Karval, Colorado; aunt and uncle, Mike and Pam Kraft and family of Kiowa, Colorado; aunt and uncle, Mark and Gail Brogger and family of Ponca City,Oklahoma; mother-in-law, Becky Decker of Parker, Colorado; brother-in-law, Vince Decker and family of Parker, Colorado; sister-in-law, Robin Partenheimer and family of Parker, Colorado; sister-in-law, Mishelle Decker of Parker, Colorado; and numerous cousins and friends.
