Obituary of Lola Patton

Lola Lucille Patton, 82, of Hugo, Colorado passed away on April 23, 2014 at Carla’s Cluster Care in Limon, Colorado. Lola was born on September 10, 1931 in Karval, Colorado to Ed and Sarah (Pepper) Trainor one of ten children. She grew up in the Karval area going to school through the 8th grade. She married William D. Patton on November 16, 1959 in Raton, New Mexico and the couple had nine children. Lola loved being a wife and a mother. Lola enjoyed playing cards, quilting and had quite a doll collection. But more than anything she was a wife, mother and grandmother that enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren’s ballgames, field days, concerts, graduations, weddings, roping’s and just spending time with them. She never sent the kids without goat milk cookies to share on the bus and you never went to her house or she came to yours without cupcakes or an angel food cake in hand. Lola enjoyed a good card game, anytime and anyplace. In the later years Bill and Lola enjoyed traveling with the Western Kiowa County Seniors on many bus tours. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters and son, Elbert Dean Avara. Lola is survived by her husband, Bill Patton of Hugo, Colorado, their children; Sandra Andrews of Saint Arbor, Michigan, Clifford (Roberta) Patton of Pueblo West, Colorado, Pepper (LaRay) Patton of Limon, Colorado, Shane Avara of Burlington, Colorado, Earl (Cathy) Avara of Byers, Colorado, Hugh (Peggy) Patton of Vernal, Utah, Norris (Kim) Patton of Ordway, Colorado and Loyd and Stetson Patton of Punkin Center, Colorado.
