I offer my deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Mr. Richard Darwin Jorgensen SR. I wanted to share with you a wonderful hope for our future, that has brought me comfort many times. That hope is found in Jehovah God's word the Bible it helps us to cope with the present, overcome the past and to give us something to strive for so we can walk with determination toward the future. In Isaiah 65:21-23 it says "They will build houses and live in them, And they will plant vineyards and eat their fruitage. They will not build for someone else to inhabit, Nor will they plant for others to eat. For the days of my people will be like the days of a tree, And the work of their hands my chosen ones will enjoy to the full. They will not toil for nothing, Nor will they bear children for distress..." what a contrast to what we see in the world, can you imagine a time when we will all have everything we need to live? That hope is real. But why live in a perfect world if there is still death? Again the bible answers in Reveation 21:3, 4 it says "Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Everyone who has died will be resurrected to a paradise earth and they won't ever die again, and we will be able to be there with them!

Words can’t express how much I have appreciated the friendship I have had with Rick. I enjoyed visiting with him and gaining knowledge from him. I appreciated his assistance in scouting activities, teaching me about Black Powder, And restuffing batteries for me and for my employer. I know he will be an influence for a long time even from the other side of the veil.

My personal condolences especially to Vertta, Jenna, and Yvette, as well as to the rest of the family. Rick was a good friend to me and to my children, and even though I've done a lousy job over the years of keeping in touch, I still considered him a good friend and example.
I would like to share a memory of how much of a difference Rick made in the scouting program in Valley District and the Denver Area Council. Before Rick came along, we didn't know much about what the Varsity Scouting program was or could be. He was behind an excursion from Valley District to Salt Lake Council's Big Event, where we saw first hand what a Varsity Scout encampment could be. As a direct result of his leadership and efforts, we were able to put hold Varsity Leader training courses, which resulted in training leaders from Cheyenne to Pueblo; we were able to hold an older boy adventure as part of the LDS Encampments at Peaceful Valley. I cannot count the number of young men's leaders and young men who have been positively affected by his actions. He lit the torch that others have carried and continue to carry.

Knew Rick and family for over 40 years. Went on the first family camping trip in Utah with them.
Rick was a hunting partner and a great friend.
He will be missed greatly by us, but the great memories still live on.
