Obituary of Lila Perrill

Lila Wilson Perrill passed away March 11, 2010 in Colorado Springs, CO at the age of 88. She was born in Lenora, KS on February 12, 1922 to Orba and Eva Wilson, one of five children. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and one sister. She spent her early life in Lenora and attended school there. She met her future husband, Lewis Perrill from a nearby town, Jennings, through a mutual friend when she was in high school. In 1939 the family moved to Colorado. Lewis soon followed to be near Lila, and they were married on August 21, 1940 in Beaver City, NE. Two daughters were born to this union, Marie Stephens (Ronald) of Colorado Springs, CO and Donna Maranville (Jerry) formerly of Lincoln, NE now living in Matheson, CO. Lila and Lewis worked several jobs in agriculture and the production end of the war effort before moving to the farm south of Simla, CO in 1944 where they spent nearly 40 years. Lila and the girls helped Lewis in that farming and cattle operation. Lila enjoyed gardening and they produced much of the food they ate. She also enjoyed making afghans and braided rugs from old clothes, which she mostly gave away to others. In 1983 Lila and Lewis moved off of the farm and built a new house east of Simla. They spent the next 20 years improving their property with the help of their daughter Marie’s family. It is easy to recognize the effort by all of the trees and beautiful landscaping now on that property. Lila and Lewis were members of the Simla Baptist Church. Soon after her husband, Lewis, passed away in 2003, Lila moved to Colorado Springs, CO to live with the loving care of her daughter, Marie, and son-in-law, Ron, until her death. Lila cherished her family, especially her husband and two daughters, and her grandchildren, Douglas Stephens, Laura Coffee (Owen), Clay Maranville (Lori), Cole Maranville (Angie), and Case Maranville (Lindsey). She was blessed with nine great grandchildren Logan and Gavin Coffee (Laura), Alex and Sydney Maranville (Clay), Keagan, Mia and Brinley Maranville (Cole), River and Summit Maranville (Case). These were among her most prized treasures. She is sadly missed by her family.
