Obituary of Orvel Aeschlimann

Lifelong Kit Carson County resident Orvel Arthur Aeschlimann passed away on May 25, 2010 at the Grace Manor Care Center in Burlington. He was 89 years old. Orvel was born on November 17, 1920 in Diller, Nebraska to Rudolph and Martha (Schnuelle) Aeschlimann. He was one of three sons born to this union. In 1930, the family moved from Nebraska to the family farm east of Burlington where he lived his entire life. Orvel attended and graduated from Kanorado High School in 1938. On September 20, 1944, Orvel married Hildegarde Kloeckner. To this union two sons William and Rodney were born. Orvel was a wheat farmer and a rancher all his life. He was also involved in many organizations throughout his lifetime. He was president of the Kit Carson County Farm Bureau, he was on the ASCS state committee, he was on the Kanorado Coop Association Board for 26 years, served as a 4-H leader and was also member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, and served many different positions on the Church Council. He also sold registered and certified seed wheat, and the family would also supply the entire surrounding area with farm fresh eggs several times a week. Orvel is preceded in death by his parents, and both brothers Armand and Edwin Aeschlimann. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Hildegarde of the home, and two sons Bill and his wife Karol Aeschlimann of Hurley, South Dakota and Rod and his wife Vickie Aeschlimann of Reno, Nevada. He is also survived by five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
