Obituary of Rigoberto Ordonez
Longtime Burlington, Colorado resident Rigoberto Ordoñez passed away on October 7, 2010 from injuries he sustained in a vehicle accident.
Rigo was born on July 10, 1978 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Luis Gildardo and Librada (Burciaga) Ordoñez. He was one of seven children.
Rigo grew up and attended school in Burlington. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1996. Shortly after graduation, he met Cynthia Velasco. To this union, four children were born; Estevan, Raquel, Natanya and Isabel.
Rigo was a very hard worker, and very involved in the community and his church, The Light of the World Column and Pillar of the Truth. He will be remembered as an inquisitive, fun loving father and as having a cheerful disposition and positive outlook on life and its mysteries. He will also be remembered by all who knew him by his great sense of humor, and he was also a great brother, father, husband, son and friend. Rigo never knew how to say no. He did everything possible to help others, always being concerned for their well being. Rigo was always smiling, he knew how to fix or break anything that moved. When asked a question, Rigo always had an explanation for it. Rigo was opinionated, expressive, thoughtful and would always speak his mind. He also love to spend time with his family, his friends and his church. There was never enough time for sleep. He was a busy man with many ambitions in life. His ultimate goal in life was for everyone to live a life with God.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, his paternal grandfather and 2 uncles Arturo Ordoñez and Gildardo Burciaga.
He is survived by his wife Cindy and four children of the home, his parents, six siblings; Luis Ordoñez and his wife Amanda of Burlington, Colorado, Daniel Ordoñez and his wife Norelia of Goodland, Kansas, Alfredo Ordoñez of Andrews, Texas, Sandra Ordoñez of Andrews, Texas, Uriel Ordoñez of Goodland, Kansas and Marisol Ordoñez of Andrews, Texas. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
