Obituary of Hildegunde Cochran

Hildegunde Eva Cochran (Lieser) was born July 20, 1949 in Marburg Germany to Johann and Rosi (Nelius) Lieser. She was the youngest of four sisters. In 1964 she met Rodger Cochran who was based in Germany while serving in the U.S. Army. After a long courtship, she came to the United States in June of 1968 in Colorado Springs. Gunde and Rodger began a family on October 18, 1969 with their first son, Danny Cochran, while ranching and living in Truckton, Colorado. They eventually moved the family to Limon when Rodger opened “Rodger’s Auto Shop”. The family grew on October 8, 1971 when they were blessed with their second son, Dale Cochran. Danny and Dale said Gunde taught herself English while watching television and remember several occasions when she didn’t use it properly. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with family. While living in Limon, Gunde worked for Cochran Motors, McDonalds and Carla’s Cluster Care. As her boys grew up and had families of their own she enjoyed spending time with her seven grandchildren. In 2008, she enjoyed a trip to Rangely, Maine to visit a sister from Germany and another sister living in Maine. Gunde lost her husband, Rodger, on October 6, 2009. Shortly after she fell sick with bladder cancer and lost that battle at the University Hospital on December 17, 2010. She is preceded in death by her parents, Johann and Rosi (Nelius) Lieser, her husband, Rodger Cochran, and her sister, Susan. Gunde is survived by her sons, Danny (Amber) Cochran, Dale (Shelley) Cochran, grandchildren; Nick Hill, Jalissa Fay, Genna Cochran, Krista Cochran, Tyler Cochran, Dylan Cochran and Jordan Cochran all of Limon, CO.
