Obituary of Carl Rogers

Burlington, Colorado resident and Pastor of Hope Congregational Church, Carl Rogers passed away on Friday, April 29 2011 at the St. Anthony’s Central Hospital in Denver. He was 58 years old. Carl was born on April 16, 1953 in Tulare, California to David and Annette Rogers. He was one of four children. Carl grew up and attended school in Brentwood, California and graduated from Liberty High School in 1971. With a full ride football scholarship, Carl attended Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon. He started as a freshman and become an All-American football player. At the same time he came to know the Lord and led many to Christ. He graduated in 1975 with a double major in history and psychology. He studied at North Park Seminary in Chicago, Illinois, as well as Multnomah Bible School in Portland, Oregon. On April 3, 1982, Carl married Nancy Mae Shull in North Platte, Nebraska. To this union two children were born; Zach and Ida Mae. In 1989, Carl and family moved to Hollandale, Minnesota where Carl became the pastor of the Conservative Congregational Church of Hollandale. In 1993, Carl and family moved to Wilton, Wisconsin where Carl became the pastor of Faith Congregational Church. In 2004, Carl and family moved to Burlington, Colorado where Carl became the pastor at Hope Congregational Church north of Bethune. He was pastor here until his death. Carl passionately loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He loved reading and studying God’s Word, and spent much of his time developing Tyrannus Ministries. Carl was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Nancy and their two children Zach and Ida Mae Rogers, both of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Also by foster son, Alex Green of Waterloo, Iowa. He is also survived by three brothers; David Rogers (Cynthia) of Rhododendron, Oregon, John Rogers (Teri) of Atascadero, California, and Tim Rogers (Mary) of Dubois, Wyoming. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
