Beth and John, We are so sorry to hear about your Dad. Cindy called and told us and then we read it in the Limon paper. We enjoyed reading about what a great and interesting man he was. We know he will be missed so much by all of you. His smile in his picture says it all!! You all are in our prayers as you adjust to memories rather than having him there with you. Harlan and Virginia

WEEDS!
Posted: July 19, 2011 | Last Revised: July 19, 2011
While living in Denver, I had the opportunity to visit the Craig ranch on several occasions. On one week end visit, I noticed that Uncle John had recently planted their new front lawn. I thought it would be fun to play a joke on Uncle John so I enlisted the aid of Aunt Dof to help. We got up early one morning and "planted" three waist-high weeds just under the kitchen window. When uncle John sat down for breakfast, he glanced out the window and could hardly believe his eyes. He kept staring open-mouthed at the weeds until Aunt Dof and I burst into laughter. He said "That was a good one, you almost had me!"

We extend our sympathy to John's family. I always enjoyed my visits with John when he came to the office each year to review the proposed school budget. He represented the Cattlemen's Association and was excellent at presenting their views and concerns about the area financial well being. He was a great supporter of the schools and it was always an interesting and informative conversation. I cherish my time spent with John.
