Obituary of Argle Mauck

Argle Jeanette (Schmidt) Mauck age 85 of Limon, Colorado peacefully passed away Monday, October 17, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Simla, Colorado. Argle was born January 26, 1926 in Turon, Kansas the daughter of Evert and Olive (Boyke) Schmidt. She grew up and attended grade school in Neola, Kansas and graduated from Turon High School in 1944. She also attended and graduated from Salt City Business College in Hutchinson, Kansas. On October 6, 1946 in Turon, Kansas, Argle was united in marriage to Kenneth Mauck. They shared sixty-five years of marriage. To this union they shared two children, Nancy and Dale. Argle and Kenneth lived in Lerado, Kansas until 1949. They moved north of Limon, Colorado in 1949 where they farmed and ranched for over sixty years. Argle understood hard work and was always right by her husband’s side to help care and tend the farm. She was always driving the truck on many long days and nights during the wheat harvest. Most of all, Argle took much pride in being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her love, her hard work and her spirit will live on through her family and friends forever…. She enjoyed the winters in Arizona with Kenneth; thirty-one winters to be exact. She liked her Colorado summers where she enjoyed gardening and caring for her flowers. She loved golfing, playing cards with her grandchildren, shuffle boarding, square dancing and especially traveling the world with her husband, Kenneth. Argle was preceded in death by an infant son Jay Phillip Mauck. Her parents Evert and Olive Schmidt, brother, Evertt Schmidt and sister, Jane Fisher. She was also preceded by brother-in-laws; Arlen Treaster, Bob McKinney, Glenn Applegate and Don Fisher and mother-in-law Bessie Mauck. Argle is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth of the home; one son, Dale Mauck (Claudia) of Limon, Colorado; one daughter, Nancy Hahn (Greg) of Broomfield, Colorado; two sisters, Dorothy Wagner of Wichita, Kansas and Lorraine Bruns of Amarillo, Texas; six grandchildren; Carrie Owens (Ed) of Limon, Colorado, Timi Mauck of Limon, Colorado, Jeffrey Hahn of Tempe, Arizona, Jenny Hahn of Northfield, Minnesota, Matthew Mauck (Stephanie) of Limon, Colorado, and Jason Hahn (Britt) of Broomfield, Colorado, four great grandchildren; Mahalie, Brynlyn and Colt Owens of Limon, Colorado and Natalya Hahn of Broomfield, Colorado.
