Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service and burial will follow at the Byers Community Cemetery.******* Brian Neil Cummings age 34 of Strasburg, Colorado passed away at his home Monday, January 30, 2012. He was born July 5, 1977 in Denver, Colorado the son of Warren Neil and Marilyn Sue (Gair) Cummings. He grew up and graduated from Strasburg High School in 1996. He received his associate’s degree in Horticulture from Northeast Junior College in Sterling, Colorado. Brian was currently employed the last six years for the Strasburg School District where he worked in the ground maintenance department. Brian’s love was horticulture and his passion for the science and cultivation of plants never went unnoticed. He took much pride in his work and enjoyed improving the quality of the landscapes he was tasked to do as a job but also his own environment at home. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading his Bible. He also loved to go camping and hiking in the mountains which always had a special place in his heart. He enjoyed watching movies, especially his westerns. He was a member of the Mountain View Fellowship Church in Strasburg, Colorado and he loved his church community very much. They were a big part of his Brian’s life and he is going to miss them dearly. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. Brian’s spirit and warm heart will be missed by all of his family and friends and his love will be expressed in all of their daily lives forever… Brian was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn (Gair) Lewis who passed away on September 30, 2009. He is survived by his father, Warren Neil Cummings (Judy) of Limon, Colorado; step-dad, Jerry Lewis of Strasburg, Colorado; grandparents, Wade and Mary Cummings of Goodland, Kansas and Delpha Gair of Byers; two sisters, Rebecca Gaudot (Dean) of Byers, Colorado and Amanda Julin (Bruce) of Strasburg, Colorado; two half brothers, Warren “Ben” Cummings (Priscilla) of Trinidad, Colorado and Thomas Cummings of Limon, Colorado; one half sister, Megan Cummings of Limon, Colorado; two step-brothers, Steve Lewis of Strasburg, Colorado and Joseph Vassios (Kathleen) of Wellington, Colorado; two nieces, Ashley Lewis and Amy Julin; and three nephews, Preston Gaudot, Carson Gaudot and Zac Julin. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 6, 2012 at the Strasburg Community Church in Strasburg, Colorado with the burial to follow at the Byers Community Cemetery in Byers, Colorado.
