Obituary of Glen Shepard
Biography
Glen was born on April 12, 1921 to Charles P. and Lila (Bryant) Shepard in Cope, Colorado. He was one of three children born to this union.
While in the Navy, he served aboard the Natoma Bay CVE62, and as a member of its first crew, he is a plank owner of the aircraft carrier. In 1956, Glen borrowed money to go into the grocery business in Cope, and in 1960 he borrowed money to get out of the business.
He met Doris Ilene Anderson and later married her on June 14, 1963 in Sedalia, Colorado. To this union three daughters came into Glens life; Denise, Terry, and Glennis. After his marriage to Doris in 1963 he moved to Denver, Glen worked for 18 years for Emery Air Freight. Soon after retirement, they moved to the cabin they built in the mountains near Florissant, Colorado. While living there Glen was active in church and VFW activities. He proudly served as Post 11411 Chaplain for 14 years and as District 8 Chaplain for 6 years. In 2007, Glen and Doris reluctantly left the mountains they loved, and moved closer to their children in Stratton.
