Obituary of Alvin Radebaugh

Alvin Bruce Radebaugh age 89 passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Lincoln Community Hospital in Hugo, Colorado. He was born April 25, 1923 in Brewster, Kansas the son of C.I. Radebaugh and Ella L. Quincy Radebaugh. Alvin married Jessie Irene (Britton) Strode in Raton, New Mexico. To this union they shared two children, son Larry Radebaugh and daughter Margie. They also shared two other sons, Jessie Jay and Eyer (Butch) Strode and a daughter Nancy from Jessie’s previous marriage. Jessie passed away on June 23, 2010. Alvin drove truck for over thirty years for the Farmers Marketing Company in Denver, Colorado. He hauled grain for livestock and spent many long days and on the road. Alvin loved to travel and especially with his wife Jessie. They traveled to over twenty four different states touring various rodeo circuits which they enjoyed very much. Their favorite was of course the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. They also both enjoyed gambling at Cripple Creek and Black Hawk. In Alvin’s early years he enjoyed breaking and riding horses. He will dearly miss his coffee buddies at the Flagler Co-Op and his very special friend Mary Hart who took care of him in his final months. Most of all, Alvin will be missed by his family and his many friends that he loved so much. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Jessie; two sons, Jessie Jay and Butch Strode; 3 brothers; 2 sisters; one granddaughter, Nikki Radebaugh. He is survived by his daughter, Margie Dunaway of Limon, Colorado; a son, Larry Radebaugh (Ruth) of Belfield, North Dakota; a daughter, Nancy Overly of Byers, Colorado; 3 brothers, 3 sisters ;his grandchildren; great grandchildren great great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
