She was an active volunteer for the Simla Schools when her children were in attendance. Jean was also a member of the Midway Extension Homemakers for over 50 years. She won many blue ribbons at the Elbert County Fair for her cooking, crafts, and gardening. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents Charles and Florence Reed, her brothers Gordon and Dallas, and two sisters Goldie and Maxine.
