Dear family of Herman,
I am sorry for your loss. The death of a loved one is never an easy thing to cope with, no matter what their age. But you can take some solace in knowing that Herman lived a long life and was able to experience things few ever will. You can also take solace in knowing that you have the opportunity to see Herman again. The Bible makes this promise at John 5:28 and 29 where it reads, "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his [Christ's] voice and come out." I hope these words are of some consolation.

My family lived 1 mile from the Fritzler farm. Practically all my memories of growing up not only include my own family but Herman, Lizzy,
Winnie, and Joe. Sorry Bob you were a little older and out of my memory picture. I learned how to be a good caring neighbor and friend from the example of Herman and Lizzy. Thank you so much for watching over my Mom afer Dad died, 1969 we would of not had a harvest if Herman and other neighbors had not stepped in and helped out. Thank you for being genuine and good deep down. Donna Grant

Winnie,Bob,Joe,& all your family my thoughts and prayers are with you all. May the special memories that you have made together help in the days ahead. I will always treasure the ones that I have of your dad and mom. In recent years when returning for Homecoming I always looked forward to seeing them at the parade and visiting with them. Your dad and I had one of those visits last year that I will forever hold in my special memories.

When it comes to grandpas, there was no better! He exceeded all expectations of a little girl looking up to her grandfather! Whether playing board games, riding in the pick up til I would finally quit talking and fall asleep, or taking me to the Ace Harware to get me whatever it was I wanted that mom said "no!" to, he would do it all in the act of love! His love and kind heart spread like wildfire, and I know I have him to thank for the way I can treat others with compassion today. I love you grandpa and I can't wait til we meet again, thank you for everything (too much to even express with words).

As Loretta Lynn sings, "They don't make men like my Daddy any more. They threw about the pattern through the years". He was one of a kind. Whether he was shaking his fist or poking his cane at me, it was all good natured fun. I will miss that. Say Hi to Mom! Love, Winnie
