well dad its been about eight days since I have last heard your voice. Its two oclock in the morning and I am trying to imagine you talking to me and It took A couple of seconds before I could hear you. I hurt so bad that I never went back to sleep so I just went to work. If I stay buisy I do better. There is a part of me that knows that I will never be the man that you are but I am going to keep trying. I love you so much and I will never forget you or your voice. I love you and miss you so much.

Miss Shirley and Kids. My heart goes out to you all. I haven't recovered from my mom's death, however I do know the pain and wishing you could of done something. But I learned we don't have that say that is between the maker and them. I Just know that mom is up their watching what I do probably even smiling at times and at other times I feel her calling me Samantha Jean Nelson, I knew that I was thinking or doing something was not going to make her happy. We as their adult kids need to be strong and carryout their traditions as well as our own. My God be with you in the days ahead.

I am so sorry for your loss. When the enemy 'death' strikes, your grief can be great. But God promises to sustain us if we throw our burdens on him. (Psalm 55.22) We need to draw close to him in prayer for comfort.
He also gives us the hope of the resurrection (John 5:28,29). Therefore, our sorrow need not be unrelenting.
We can look forward to seeing our dead loved ones.
Hope these scriptural thoughts bring you some comfort.

To Aurstin's loving family, Words cannot express the pain I feel for all of you, as I have seen from the inside what a close family you all are. As a part of his extended family, I can tell you all that he was a true friend to me. I always enjoyed stopping to see them and always had a good visit. He had a big heart and would do anything for those in need. Gave me some really good advice on many occasions. I will miss him terribly and I will pray that the lord will surround you all with his love. Love to each and every one of you, Sharon

Daddy...I am going to miss you more than the words I can type. You were always the strong one that had all the right and wise words. I am going to try my hardest to move forward as you have always taught me. Watch over us and take care of mom (I will help). When she gets lonely send some love. I just wanted you to know how much your loved. God received a great soldier. WD

The one for Dad - March 8, 2013
Posted: March 8, 2013 | Last Revised: March 8, 2013
The one for Dad
Many poems I've written
All so sad,
None hurt as much
As the one for Dad.
The day we fear
Has come now fast,
But your voice I hear
Will always last.
Every Marine I see
Who lived and died,
Every flag that's free
I will hear your pride.
I will hear your voice
When the work needs done,
I will pass on your choice
As I raise my son.
Our family is strong
It's thanks to you,
Our history is long
Our love is true.
You taught us to care
You taught us to fight,
You showed us what's fair
And showed us what's right.
Your lessons we learned
We will pass them on,
The respect you earned
Even after you're gone.
It's hard to say goodbye
I'm a selfish son,
I know you have to fly
Your job here is done.
I know you found god's love
Before you had to leave,
He will welcome you above
We will stay here to grieve.
A selfish son I know
I miss you so bad,
To my family I will show
I will be like my dad.
Walk with your brothers
Your sister you'll see.
Hold the hand of your mother
Be happy and free.
There you will have two fathers
But only one you call dad.
There you have no bothers
And will never be sad.
Lord may I ask
Not sure you can say,
Just one simple task
Every night when I pray.
Give him our love
And send his our way.
Until we can see him above
On our last day.
To Dad
