Obituary of Blanche Burgess

Blanche Lee (Pinello) Burgess, 81, of Limon Colorado passed away on May 5, 2013. Blanche was born on November 30, 1931 in Colorado Springs, CO to Lee and Rose (Lobue) Pinello. Blanche attended elementary and Jr. High at Widefield Grange School in Security, CO. She then attended Fountain High school through the 11th grade when she met and married the love of her life, Charles Burgess. They made their home on the farm North of Limon where she became a true “farmers wife”. She loved the life on the farm with her gardens, flowers and especially with her husband and four children. Blanche was a member of the Lincoln County Womens Bowling Association and competed in 30 state bowling tournaments as well as 6 national tournaments and was a member of 3 teams that won the state Seniors Bowling championships. She was also a member of the Genoa Lions Club and the Limon First United Methodist Church. She loved to crochet and made many beautiful afghans for her children and grandchildren. Blanche was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, her brother Lee Pinello, Jr., her parents grandparents and many aunts and uncles. She is survived by daughter Phyllis and husband Mike Mellott, their children; London (Keith) Reif of Hoisington, KS, Rebecca (Scott) Ravenkamp of Hugo, Lake (Carol) Mellott of Goodland, KS, daughter Patricia and husband Ted Bandy of Limon, their children; Ted (Sherri) Bandy Jr., Jason (Shirelle) Bandy, and Kayla Marie Bandy of Limon, CO, son Jay and wife Janel Burgess of Limon, their children Jayson (Jenn) Burgess of Aurora, CO Jandel Burgess of Boulder, CO, Janitel Burgess of Frederick, CO, and Janee (Dave) Lawing of Evans, CO and son Merle Lee (Sharon) Burgess of Colorado Springs, and their sons Charlie and Rhett Cole and Hunter John Burgess, and nineteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Frances and husband Kay Welker of Orchard, CO, and sister-in-law Donna Bender of Colorado Springs, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
