Obituary of Sarah Abbott
Sarah Ann Abbott went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 18, 2014. She was born on July 16, 1938 to Hovey and Murney (Dike) Abbott. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1958. Sarah dedicated her life to taking care of people first her father then Maude Hinkhouse for 10 years. She really enjoyed going to Arizona every winter with Maude. After she was no longer able to help Maude she helped Mrs. Blackwell and others for shorter periods of time until she could no longer be of service.
While in Arizona she picked up a hobby of making gorgeous jewelry out of ordinary rocks. She also made quilt tops using even the smallest pieces of scrap material one quilt top was made of 1 squares. Although she never had children she enjoyed her nieces and nephews.
Sarah furthered her walk with the Lord when she became a faithful member of the First Baptist Church. She was involved with the womens bible study until she could no longer make it to church. When Sarah could no longer live by herself she moved into the Burlington Care Center in the summer of 2006. She enjoyed it there and was very well cared for by Carol who became a very close friend. She always tried to make it to the bible study and devotions that the local churches provided for the Care Center.
