Obituary of Ronald "Ron" Tracy

Ronald Dean Tracy, better known as Ronnie, passed away on May 24, 2014 in the Lincoln Community Care center in Hugo, Colorado. Ron was born on December 28, 1949 to Derald Dean and Vernis Sharlene (Cox) Tracy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Ron was one of five children. He grew up in Simla, Colorado graduating from Simla High School in 1967. Ronnie married his first wife Sandy and had one son David. Later Ron married Carol Bowker in May of 1972 and to this union two children were born, the marriage later dissolved. Ron worked with his father as a young man at Tracy Oil delivering gas and fuel for the surrounding communities. Later he and his father would purchase Lohmeiers gas station; Ron would manage this gas station for several years. After managing his families gas station Ron went to work for Stone Oil and managed Stone Oil Company for several years. Never being one to just sit around it didn’t take too long for Ronnie to start another project, the Triple ‘T’ Pilot car. Ronnie was always involved with the community in one way or another. He was a member of the Simla Lions Club, a volunteer fireman with the Simla Fire Department and an EMT. However, his biggest passion was to be outside enjoying the weather and scenery. Ron was an avid hunter and fisherman, as a true sportsman he loved the outdoors. He bowled for many years on a Men’s Bowling League and played Town Team Softball. Ron enjoyed watching the Broncos, Rockies, Game shows and especially Nascar. Delivering fuel was something Ronnie really enjoyed doing and was very grateful to be able to meet so many people over the years. His family recalled that even after being away from delivering fuel for a number of years he could still tell you where everyone lived out on the countryside. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; Dean and Vernis Tracy. He is survived by his children; David James Conklin of Malad City, ID, Casey and Troy Thompson and their children; Megan (Tyler ) Smith and Tucker Thompson of Limon, Colorado and Brian and Jennie Tracy and their children; Hunter and Kaitlyn Tracy of Burlington, Colorado. Ron is also survived by his brothers; Donnie (Margie) Tracy, Kevin (Carla) Tracy and Gaylen Tracy of Ft.
