Obituary of Raymond Miltenberger
Raymond Miltenberger was born February 19, 1938, and passed away on June 15, 2014. He was 76 years old.
Raymond was born in Vilas, Colorado. He was the son of Gregory and Clara Miltenberger. He attended elementary school in Vilas until the 3rd grade. When his family moved to Stratton, Colorado, he attended St. Charles Academy through the 8th grade. He then attended Stratton High School where he graduated in 1956.
After graduation, he farmed with his two brothers, George and Ben. Later he served in the Army for 2 years. When he returned, he went back to farming again with his brothers until their retirement. He then farmed on his own.
On December 6, 1975, Raymond married Linda Kay Cibolski and settled on the farmstead 5 miles east of Stratton.
He loved to farm and would rather do that instead of going on road trips. He would always talk about the rain and his crops. He loved collecting coins. He liked to watch ball games. He would drive the country roads and look at the fields. He liked to sit down in the evenings after everything was done to watch the news and old movies.
He liked country and polka music. He would go on the dance floor and start dancing. He liked to go to town and drink coffee with the old folks. He loved to give people a hard time and always had a smile. He always wanted to act like he was young again.
Raymond loved his grandchildren. His grandchildren are Devin Gitschlag, Sean Gitschlag, Ryan Gitschlag, Katelin Gitschlag, Johnny Gitschlag, Caleb Gitschlag, Jayden Miltenberger, Zavannah Spanjer, Kries Rutledge, and Kyler Rutledge.
He is survived by his wife Linda and their five children; Brenda Miltenberger, Terry Miltenberger (Davina), Doug Miltenberger (Elgen), Amy Gitschlag, Jeffrey Miltenberger; ten grandchildren; and his two brothers George and Ben Miltenberger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his sister Eva Hyndiuk, Anne Huter, Katie Presson and Edna Stegman; as well as his brothers Paul Miltenberger, Joe Miltenberger, John Freiberger and Pete Freiberger.
