I am so saddened by the news of Mildred's passing. Mildred started off as one of my grandma's (Betty Heger) best friends. They drove school bus together Eastern Star sisters. They shared love of gardening cake decorating and most of all welcoming everyone into their homes. It wasn't long before Mildred became like my second grandma and each trip home to Flagler wasn't complete without a visit out to see Mildred. She will be greatly missed and I am just so grateful for getting to have so many memories of Mildred. My heart goes out to Cindy and Shannon.

Just heard Mrs. Mildred Dyson passed away. My brothers and I fished Dysons pond from the time I was a kid, and it was always a treat to swing in and say hi to her. Little lady worked harder than most grown men. One time after asking if we could fish she said only if we helped her stack some hay. She worked us a good 2 hrs. Before giving us the key. Makes me sad. ( picture in photo gallery)

Mildred was a wonderful lady. She will be missed dearly. I met her when my first husband Aaron Clemmerson worked for them taking care of milking cows and the sheep. I would spend time out there while my husband was working and help Mildred out when I could because I was a pregnant teenager at that time. She was tough as nails when she had to be but she was very sweet. So sorry for your loss Cindy and Shannon. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

So sorry to hear of Mildred's passing. One of my favorite memories is of cake decorating in 4-h and being able to borrow various cake pans from her. Our favorite was a bear that was sitting up:).

My heart is saddened by the loss of Mildred! My deepest regards to Cindy and the family! When I was young, Mildred was a very special lady to me! I loved "MY" babysitter. I haven't seen Mildred in many years but the special memories she gave to me will always be there! I loved baking with her (I was very little- more like making a mess for her), the stories she would tell, thinking I was helping milk the cows and what a privilege it was to actually go in the barn! I remember telling people I milk cows. Later in life I realized it was hard to do as an adult, how could I have done it when I was little! :) She made me feel special because that's the kind of person she was- very special to a lot more than just me!

My condolences to Mildred's family and friends. Even though I didn't know Mildred that well, the times I saw her helped me to see that she was a special lady. She was always friendly when my fishing buddies, such as Mark Hayes, and I would stop by to ask permission to fish at the pond. Mildred will be truly be missed by many. My prayers go out for comfort to those close to her during this hard time.
God's Blessings!
