Obituary of Rosalee Duncan

Rosalee (Rosie) Duncan passed away on September 29, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Rosie was the first born to Howard and Lucille Miley Brown on April 30, 1934 in Lindon, Colorado in Washington County. The family moved 22 miles north of Genoa in Washington County, later they moved west of Genoa where Rosie attended a one-room school. Rosie met Wayne Sease at the home of aunt and uncle, Jo Alma and Bill Nickell. They were married October 10, 1954 at the Nickell home north of Genoa. Born to this union were 5 children: Robert Daniel [Danny], Howard Lee, Cindy Louise, Diana Kay and Jerry Wayne. Wayne and Rosie farmed and ranched on the Sease homestead 18 miles north of Genoa. Wayne died in a farm accident in 1972 and the family moved into town in 1973. Rosie worked at the Genoa Café where she met George Meade and married in December 1975. Hank Williams was born to this union. The couple later divorced. Rosie then met and married Melvin Duncan in 1980 and was later divorced. There are many memories of annual family gatherings at the family farm and playing cards with surrounding neighbors and at her mother’s house in Genoa. While in the Limon and Hugo areas she worked at various jobs and got to know alot of people. Rosie was a member of the Genoa Community Church. The highlights of her later years included a Caribbean Cruise, playing cards at the Senior Center in Genoa and Hugo and BINGO at the Lincoln County Care Center. Rosie resided at Smoky Hills housing in Hugo, CO for eight years and was a member of the Lincoln County Hospital Auxiliary and enjoyed volunteering at the Care Center. She also enjoyed being part of a small craft group where she shared her needlepoint with her close friends. The family could always look forward to receiving needlepoint for Christmas. She continued to attend the Senior Center activities in Genoa until it was discontinued. Wayne and Rosie went to the VFW functions in her early years and Rosie was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 6612 and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 620 in Hugo, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Chester and Robert, and her husband Wayne Sease. She is survived by her six children: Danny of Yuma, CO; Lee (Colleen) of Colorado Springs, CO; Cindy (Roger) Gilbert of Limon, CO; Diana Dible of Oakley, KS; Jerry of Colorado Springs, CO and Hank (January) of Hays, KS and two brothers Wayne (Marianna) of Limon, CO and Richard of Genoa, CO and one sister Betty of Genoa, CO. Her pride and joy was her 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
