I can remember when Bob and Joan started working at the elevator in Byers in 1955. Their customers became friends. My mother and Joan were friends until my mother’s death in 1989. That same super lady was faithfully working with customers and friends in the hardware store in 2022. Through the years Joan was a constant and positive force that saw their family and the community through many transitions. Her persistent hard work and dedicated support of their family and the community will be missed, remembered, and appreciated. Raymond Morris

Joan was one of the first persons Randy and I met when we moved to Byers in 1988, as we spent a lot of time at Lippitt Hardware she greeted us at the door, introduced herself and became our friend. I will always remember her warm smile as you opened the door. I had many good visits with her over the years sharing her childhood days that she remembered fondly. I know she loved her sports as she was a number one fan following her granddaughter Nikki to all of her sports events. My last visit with her at the store in April will be cherished. My prayers and thoughts are with the family, may God give you peace and joy as you celebrate her life on this earth. Byers was Blessed to have such a Pillar in our community. Randy and Lisa Martin

I have so many memories of your mom (they bought the Byers house the year I was born!)….what will remain in my memory is her ever present smile that greeted all who entered the store. Her eyes would just light up. The whole town will miss Joan. Much love to you all, dear ones. ~Stacie May~
