Obituary of Therra C. Irey

Therra Chantey Irey, age 33, passed away on Monday, June 27th, 2022. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with a service following at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 9th, 2022 at Mountain View Fellowship in Strasburg, CO. Therra was born in Ft. Morgan, Colorado on October 24, 1988 to Brett Irey and Anita Espinosa. After 25 hours of labor, she decided at 3:34AM to join the world on a Monday. Therra lived in Ft. Morgan Colorado until she was 3 years old. Eventually, Anita and her children moved to the Bennett/Strasburg area in 1992, where Therra would reside until her passing. In 1996, Bill and Anita met and became a blended family of ten. Therra graduated from Bennett High School in 2007. She attained two associates’ degrees, one each from Morgan Community College and Community College of Aurora. Therra found herself working in hospitality. She worked at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott DIA from 2007-2018, where she was met with immense success and made many friends. She wore many hats over the years at the hotel, but was most proud of being the Assistant General Manager. Her greatest joy during that time, however, was when Therra was blessed with son, Jahden Andrew Irey, born on December 2nd, 2014. In March of 2018, she decided to switch gears and began working at Wagner Equipment, as a credit representative. Therra loved the Denver Broncos with a passion. Therra was well known for her kindness, hard work ethic, intelligence, and loyalty. Her spare time was usually spent with family and friends. Therra is survived by her son, Jahden Andrew Irey, her parents, Guillermo and Anita Espinosa & Brett Irey and Lisa Canales. Her siblings Kristin Irey, Christopher (Vanessa) Espinosa, Cristal Espinosa, Trenton Irey, Shane Espinosa, Sean Espinosa. Her grandparents, Don and Darlene Gerstenberger, Charles D. and Sheila Reeves. Also survived by several aunts and uncles. Millie Irey and twenty two nieces & nephews and one great niece. She is preceded in death by her Brother Jason Espinosa, Grandfather Leon Irey, Nephew Hayden Espinosa and Niece Kendall Espinosa. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations can be made in Therra’s memory for her son’s, Jahden Irey’s care.
