Obituary of David Wilson

In Loving Memory “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” - John 3:16 In the quiet evening hours after our family left your side you slipped off to be at peace in our Heavenly Father’s loving arms. There is no doubt in our minds that when He met you at the gates. He kissed each of your cheeks and said “Well done my faithful servant.” David Wilson passed away on the evening of the 28th of December at the age of 53, ending his two and a half year battle with cancer. He was born in Virginia on April 16, 1968 but lived his whole life in Colorado. He graduated from Rangeview Highschool in 1987. Dave married the love of his life, Marilee Wilson, on January 19, 1991 and became a father to her children Kelly and Tony. In 1998, Dave started Wilson’s Construction which he ran for 21 years serving the local community. During that time, he was a Bennett Volunteer firefighter for 12 years along with his family and became a Training Captain, and reached the rank of Lieutenant firefighter 2, EMT-B. He was also a member of Strasburg's Mountain View fellowship. Dave enjoyed camping, fishing, and bowling with his friends and family whenever he had spare time, along with taking meticulous care of his beautiful lawn. He was an ardent Bronco fan through the good and bad times and famously went all out decorating his home for the Christmas season every year. Dave was also known for his sense of humor and never ending supply of dad jokes. But he loved nothing more than spending time with his family, especially playing with his youngest grandchild Devin. Dave was many things to many people; a son, brother, husband, father, friend, mentor, and grandfather, but above all he was a genuinely good person who will be dearly missed. Dave is survived by: his wife Marilee Wilson, his daughter Kelly Volta and son-in-law Ryan Volta, his son Tony Galvin and his girlfriend Shannon Cunningham, his grandchildren Aidan and Devin, his Father-in-law Charles DeCino, his Mother and Father Carolyn and Ronald Wilson, His Uncle Gerald Wilson, his brothers Ron and Robert Wilson, his sister Connie Prendergast and Christie Nazarenus, his many nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
