George Rosler

Obituary of George Rosler

George Henry Rosler was born in Seldovia, Alaska on January 6, 1944 to Rudolph and Cleo (Baker) Rosler. George passed away on February 19, 2015 in Hugo, Colorado at the age of 71 with is beloved family at his side. George spent most of his childhood in Bellingham, Washington on a farm, with his dad and mom and 2 sisters; Iva and Judy. George had a lot of chores but remembered always having to milk the cows every morning and evening. After George’s parents divorced George moved to Limon in 1962 at the age of 18 to be with his mom. George just couldn’t believe that Limon didn’t have any lakes, oceans, or even trees. He got a job washing dishes at the Cozy Café where he met the love of his life Eleanor Marie Foreman. George and Eleanor were married on December 24, 1965 and to this union 3 sons were born, Michael Dean, Criss Dwight and George Joedel (Joe). After leaving the Cozy Café, George drove a bus route from Limon to Colorado Springs making two trips a day. It never mattered what the weather or roads were like, George kept that bus moving, when the buses weren’t moving he maintained them. Shortly after his bus route got discontinued George went to work at the Ford garage. There was nothing George would rather do than work as a mechanic and run the wreckers. George had a special knack and knowledge beyond what anyone could ever imagine. Duane Nall opened his own shop and George went to work for him until Duane passed away,(in the same building he now runs with his sons). George went to work for Farrel Ford where he continued to work until he bought Duane’s old building. George wanted a place where his boys could work beside him and stay in Limon where he loved to live. In 1990 George and sons’ repair shop opened their doors and his dream came true. He worked alongside his son Michael and Criss for over 25 years. George loved to go on the road with Joe on his California runs. When Joe went to work in the oil fields George loved to tell everyone about Joes adventures, and he looked forward to Joe coming down to the shop after work and having break with everyone. George loved having his grandkids down at the shop learning the family trade. George enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his all-time favorite was taking his family to Lake Powell and especially spending that time with his grandkids. He loved to Jet Ski with his dogs, and teaching his grandkids how to water ski and knee board. George had a contagious smile and you could always find George at Flying J in the mornings for coffee, or at Wendy’s on Wednesday with Dean and the crew for lunch, and you could always find him at Napa. As George got older he did less mechanic work and did more of the part runs to Denver, George never went to Denver without Betsy his poodle. He never went without her and if they wouldn’t let Betsy in he would find a different part store. George is preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Cleo, sister, Iva and grandson, Austin Cole. George is survived by his wife of 49 years, Eleanor. Sons; Michael (Kim) and their kids, Lauren, Cayden, Sydney, Zach, Josh, Austin and Caleb. Criss (Dallas) and kids; Tyler, and Jonathan and Joe (Peggy Sue) and kids; Kimberly, Eleanna, Jazzlyn and Ashley Serna. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews.
