Obituary of Frances Marie Maestas

“Pain and suffering there will be no more, you will be in our hearts evermore.”

Frances Marie Maestas was born on December 12, 1941 on the family homestead in Deer Trail, Colorado to Claude and Ruth Donovan. She was the sixth of thirteen children and attended school in Deer Trail.  

Frances married Joe Vansyoc on December 11, 1960. To this union, four children were born; Greg, Doug, Lori, and Chris. Frances and Joe resided in Byers, Co where they owned and operated Vansyoc Supply for 25 years.

Frances married Robert (Bob) Maestas, June 8, 1984 in Byers, Co. To this union, two children were born; Robert and Shannon. Frances managed  D & L Auto Parts for 20+ years.  Most recently Frances worked as a stock clerk at the Byers Sinclair until 2017. Frances resided in Byers until her passing.

One of Frances favorite things to do was loving on her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family was the most important thing in her life.

Frances was 76 years old when she passed October 11, 2018.

Frances is survived by her husband Robert Maestas;  Children Greg  (Kathy) Vansyoc of Canon City, Co; Doug (Tracie) Vansyoc  of Byers, Co; Lori (Tom) Weeth of Byers, Co; Chris Vansyoc of Prospect Valley, Co; Robert (Kathy) Maestas of Byers, Co; Shannon (R.J.) Miller of Strasburg, Co; Step daughters Bobbie (Chuck) Stratton Mitchel, NE; Carrie (Sean) Jensen of Gering, NE as well as 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Frances is also survived by her siblings Virginia Rhoden of Tuscaloosa, AL; Dennis (Christy) Donovan of Keensburg, Co; Mark (Kim) Donovan of Westminster, Co and Jeff Donovan of Las Vegas, NV. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Ruth Donavan, brothers Leroy, Rod, Jerry, Roger, Tim and sisters Millie, Carol and Jean.  

Services were held at the Mountain View Fellowship Church, Saturday October 20, 2018 at 11:00 am.
