Obituary of Donald L. Eastwood

Donald LeRoy Eastwood, 82, of Deer Trail, CO passed away on July 21, 2018 at University Hospital.  Don was born April 19, 1936 to Lawrence and Katheleen Eastwood in Stapleton NE.

Don married Louise Brown Hollingsworth on April 21, 1956.  Four children were born to this union: David Eastwood (Margie) of Deer Trail, Lori Eastwood Trujillo of Deer Trail, Sandra Beaulieu (Larry) of Bennett and Jeffrey Eastwood (Deanna).

Don and his brother, Frances, went into the Water Well business in 1971 and moved to Limon, CO.  Eventually Don Eastwood Drilling would move to Deer Trail, CO where he continued his business and live out his days until the time of his passing.

Don later met and married Linda Jeffries.  Don raised Linda’s three sons: Shaun, Gary and Randy Jeffries as his own. 

Don loved being at his mountain cabin in Victor Colorado. Don never really met anyone he didn’t like. He was a kind, loving and generous man.

Don looked forward to helping out during the Deer Trail Rodeo every year, and he also headed up the Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry sponsored by the Elks Lodge.  He was a member of the Deer Trail Elks Lodge for over 42 years and during that time, he was the Exalted Ruler on three separate occasions.

Don believed in giving back and in that spirit he agreed to be an Organ Donor.

Don is survived by wife Linda, children David, Lori, Sandra, Jeff and Brother Willie (Mary Pat) of Greeley and Sister Millie (Russell) of Ogallala, NE.

He also leaves behind Grandchildren Michael Eastwood (Michelle), Michelle Eastwood Sell (Tim), Melissa Steerman (Chris), Jeremy Eastwood, Kurtis Eastwood (Jennifer), Randy Trujillo, Amanda Jeffries and Dillon Jeffries.  Great Grandkids Alexis Cales, Anthony Cales, Isabelle Eastwood, Emma Hemmit, Brendon Eastwood, Michael Eastwood, Paislee Eastwood, Brayden Eastwood, Layton Steerman, Macee Steerman, Zeke Jeffries, Hayly and Kyle Jeffries, Great Great Grandson Hayden and many nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Raymond (Buddy) and Frances and nephew Dennis Eastwood.

Services will be held at Deer Trail School Gymnasium with Pastor Sam Courts of 1^st Baptist Church of Deer Trail officiating on July 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.  A Reception will follow at Elks Lodge #2307 in Deer Trail.
