Obituary of Joan M. Rouse

Joan Rouse was born July 21, 1936 to Joseph and Sybil Burian in Seibert, Colorado. She passed away on May 28, 2017 in Denver, Colorado. She was 80 years old. Joan was the 3rd of 5 children. She spent her childhood years in the Vona-Seibert area. On September 11, 1961 she married Delmar Rouse. They resided in Burlington for their 55 years of marriage. She had two children; Dennis Alan and Penny Sue. Joan managed the Chaparral Motor Inn for many years. She finally retired in April 2013. After her retirement she was able to spend more time at the lake house in Trenton, Nebraska. She enjoyed spending time at the lake with all her lake family. She made many friends through the years. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing snooker, Yahtzee and cards. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Sybil, two sisters, Irene Courtright, Dian Giles, brother-in-law Dale Courtwright and a great grandson Kaden Jeffrey Franz. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Delmar, son Dennis Rouse and daughter Penny (David) Worden, 4 grandchildren Kyla (Jeremy) Kizer, Kayle Rico, Nathan (Julia) Rouse, Clayton Rico, and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Tom (Nadine) Burian, one sister Hazel (Steve) Card and many nieces and nephews. Her loving heart, kind, gentle way, spunky personality and sense of humor will be greatly missed by everyone whose life she touched.
