Obituary of Hildegarde J. Aeschlimann
Hildegarde Aeschlimann passed away on December 16, 2016 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where she had been living near her oldest son, William. Hildegade had recently celebrated her 94th birthday.
Hildegarde Josephine Fredericka Kloeckner was born on December 1, 1922. She was the oldest of 4 children. Hildegarde married Orvel on September 20, 1944. To this union two sons, William and Rodney were born. Orvel passed away on May 25, 2010.
Orvel and Hildegarde were wheat farmers and ranchers in Kit Carson County. Hildegarde was involved in many organizations throughout her lifetime. Hildegarde was a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, serving in numerous capacities both locally and on the national level, including being the first woman to serve on the ELCA National Board, which provided her the opportunity to travel internationally. She was also very active in Farm Bureau on the state and county level, serving as the Colorado state Women’s Chair for many years.
Hildegarde is preceded in death by Orvel, both parents (Pauline and Walter Kramer), and her younger siblings (Vera, Alvin and Dorene). Hildegarde is survived by her two sons, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
