Obituary of Michel Paul Thelen

Michel Paul Thelen age 48 of Colorado Springs, Colorado left this world on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born on February 2, 1968 at Mercy Hospital in Denver Colorado. He came to live with Arthur and Jackie Thelen at age of six weeks and at the age of six months they adopted him. Mike grew up south of town on the family ranch. In Michel’s middle and high school years he played football, basketball, and track. He graduated from Genoa-Hugo High School in 1987. After graduation, Mike has had various jobs across many locations. He joined the United States Marine Corps in February of 1995 and was discharged in March of 1997. He went to boot camp in San Diego, California and then was stationed in North Carolina. After his military life he went back to working on ranches and other carpentry jobs in many places. His latest adventure of employment was at the Dollar Tree in Colorado Springs, Colorado Mike was proceeded in death by his father Arthur Thelen, nephew Eric Thelen, his grandparents and various other family members. Mike is survived by his mother Jackie Thelen of Hugo, Colorado; two sisters, Renee Bletzacker (Fred) of Hugo, Colorado and Susie Thelen of Ft. Morgan, Colorado and one brother, Casey Thelen (Renita) of Hugo, Colorado and various nephews, nieces, other family members, and numerous friends. A memorial potluck was held at the Hugo Train Depot in Hugo, Colorado Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 11:30-2:00 P.M.
