Obituary of Craig Sallee

Craig Steven Sallee passed away in Denver, CO at the age of 45 years on January 8th, 2006. Craig was born on March 22, 1960 in Flagler, CO to Vern L. and Julia (McCall) Sallee one of four children. Craig was dedicated as an infant in the First Baptist Church of Limon. Craig lived in Thornton, CO with Ken and Mary Turner where he worked at the Community Advantage Work Force in Adams County doing various jobs. Craig was a cowboy. He loved horses and playing guns, his favorite pastime was watching westerns and he also loved to draw. Craig faced many challenges as a child and young adult, but his handicaps never stood in the way of him enjoying his life. He loved his families the one he was born into and the one that he lived with in Denver. He never met a stranger and if you were wearing a western hat you were top notch in his book. Craig retained the wonder of a young child and reveled in family gatherings, especially Christmas. The biggest chore was keeping him in bed until the sun came up Christmas morning as he was notorious for waking up the entire household with news of “Ho-Ho’sâ€? arrival. The excitement of holidays was only second to that which he showed his family and watching how his nieces and nephews grew. He loved the babies and looked forward to playing with all the kids as they got older. Craig was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, his sister; Pamela Miller and niece Veronica Miller. Craig is survived by his parents; Vern and Judy Sallee of Limon, CO, brother; Brad and his wife Sheila Sallee of Calhan, CO, sister; Kristi and husband Dave Payne of Limon, CO, seven nieces and nephews; Mike, Trisha, Brooke, Jessica, Jennifer, Thomas and Tina. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and extended family. Funeral services for Craig will be held Thursday, January 12, 2006 at the Love Funeral Home Chapel in Limon, CO with Rev. Frank and Linda Hoover officiating. Burial followed immediately at the Pershing Memorial Cemetery in Limon, CO.
