Obituary of Ronald Reed

Ronald George Reed, age 62 of Kiowa, Colorado passed away March 30, 2006 at his home in Kiowa. Ronald was born July 8, 1943 in Salem, Ohio to Miner A. and Elwanda (Britton) Reed. Ronald attended and graduated from Roseville High School in Roseville Ohio in 1961. Following graduation he entered the United States Army were he served in the signal core. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam from 1963 to 1964 and again in 1971 to 1972. He also was stationed in Korea in 1975. On April 1, 1962 He married Mary Charlene Coble in Fultonham, Ohio. To this union three children were born. Following Ronald’s military career they moved to Byers in 1978 until 2001. From 2001 to 2003 the couple moved to Zanesville, Ohio where Ronald was an Associate Pastor at Union Town Baptist Church in Fultonham, Ohio. In 2003 they moved to Kiowa, Colorado and in August of 2005 Ronald started as the Pastor for Central Bible Church near Matheson, Colorado. Ronald was a member of the Byers VFW. He enjoyed buying and selling classic cars and collecting models of cars. Ronald coached Little League and Assisted with Boy Scouts. Ronald was preceded in death by his grandparents, and his father-in-law Carl E. Coble Sr. Ronald is survived by his wife M. Charlene Reed of Kiowa, Colorado. His parents Miner and Elwanda Reed of Arcadia, Florida. His mother-in-law Nina Marie Coble of Fultonham, Ohio. Two daughters, Wendy and husband Chris Linnebur of Limon, Colorado, and Kim Reed of Limon, Colorado. One son Ronald George Jr. and wife Lori Reed of Kiowa, Colorado. Three sisters Sheila Dugan and Jim of Newark, Ohio, Mamie and husband Chuck Carter of Arcadia, Florida, Judy Reed of West Palm Beach, Florida. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, one step grandchild, and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, April 3, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Byers, Colorado with Pastor Larry Diamond and Pastor Daniel Prentice officiating. Cremation followed the service and private burial will be held at a later date. Visitation was held Sunday from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Love Funeral Home in Limon, Colorado. Memorials are suggested to the Ronald Reed Memorial Fund in Care of Love Funeral Home P.O.
