Obituary of Jerry Sweeney

Jerry Sweeney age 64 of Strasburg, Colorado passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at his home. Jerry was born on November 30, 1941 in Broken Bow, Nebraska to Daniel F. and Betty M. (Mulchay) Sweeney. Jerry graduated from Strasburg in 1959 then he attended Colorado State University before entering the United States Army. On June 1, 1968 Jerry married Yvonne Carlson in Aurora, CO to this union one son Matt was born. Jerry enjoyed ranch life and talking on the phone with family and friends. He was a member of the Deer Trail Elks Club Lodge # 2307 and an advisory member for the Byers FFA from 1987-1993. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and one brother; Gene F. Sweeney. Jerry is survived by his wife, Yvonne Sweeney of Strasburg, CO, his son, Matt Sweeney of Strasburg, CO, brothers; Bill (Shirley) Sweeney of Missoula, MT, brother in-law Ray Carlson of Lakewood, CO, MT, and Tom (Twila) Sweeney of Littleton, CO, one uncle, Joe Mulchay of Portland, OR and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services for Jerry will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Our Lady of the Plains Catholic Church in Byers, CO at 10:30 A.M. with interment following at the Byers Cemetery in Byers, CO.
