Obituary of Lillian Murphy
Lillian G. Murphy, 84, passed away Sunday the twenty third of April 2006 while visiting her daughter and family in California.
Lillian was born on September 11, 1921 in Waupaca, Wisconsin to Matt and Regina (Meyers) Paulson one of four children. Lillianâs mother passed away when she was three years old and her Grandmother Mortonson raised her.
Lillian attended school through the 12th grade graduating in Marinette, Wisconsin. She married Joseph Murphy in Chicago, Ill. in 1941and they were blessed with three children.
Lillian was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post 6612, Alter & Rosary Society of St. Anthony Catholic Church of Hugo and enjoyed hand crafts, woodworking, yard work and traveling especially to Arizona for the winter. .
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph E. Murphy and their youngest son; David Murphy and a brother Sonny Paulson.
Lillian is survived by her son; Roy and his wife Edna Murphy of Hugo, CO, her daughter; Barbara and her husband Gary Vandal of Tustin, CA, one step son Richard and wife Sue Manyik of Centennial, CO, one step daughter Sharon and husband Jim Bowen of Boyero, CO, four grandchildren; Sherry, John, Tammy and Shawn, ten great-grandchildren; Justin, Jarrod, Ashley, Brooke, Jim, April, Michael, Wendy, Dennis, and Peggy.
A funeral service for Lillian was held Friday, April 28, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at the Love Funeral Home in Limon, CO, Reverend Olga Hard officiating. She was laid to rest at Hugo Evergreen Cemetery next to her beloved husband, Joseph they were together for 49 years.
