I just wanted to tell you grandma that I love you and I am the person I am today because so much that you and grandpa taught me. No other place but with the two of you have I ever felt such peace, love, and security. I am honored that Bobbi and I got to spend so much time with you both as kids and as adults. I will forever take with me the memories of harvest time and the excitment and pride I felt, while riding in the combine with grandpa, the memory of grandpa taking me out in the middle of the night to see the northern lights, him showing me how to bait my hook, or showing me how to ride a bike, and letting me have the golf cart so I could drive like the other kids and countless other memories that are ingraved upon my heart. There aren't any words to say how much I love you both and how much you are apart of me. We are all so blessed to have spent time with grandpa before he passed, that rarely happens. All those that were there to see him in the hospital and after shows what kind of man he was, but we already knew that. To the world he may have been one man, but to us individually he was the world and will remain so. Grandpa, I can't wait till we meet again. I love you with all my heart.

Grandpa I'm sorry I wasn't able to spend more time with you before you passed. I do thank god that we were able to get to see you in the hospital before your sweet soul left us. Grandma I know this is the hardest for you, you were with him for 61 years - I love you grandma and I'm always here for you even though im far away . You know that Jo and I would drop anything at anytime to be there for you and help you in anyway. I love you Grandma and Grandpa. Times are tuff but we are strong and we can get through this. I'm just happy that grandpa doesn't have to suffer anymore and he can still watch over each one of us everyday till we can see him again (where he's probably farming up in heaven somewhere) Lolo. Love, Bobbi

Betty and Family~ I just wanted to let your whole family know that i am thinking about you. I found out about Max this weekend and could not make it to the funeral. I have always loved Max...he was just like another Grandpa to me. Just wish i could have seen & visited with him more while he was still alive. I always wanted to bring the dog over Max gave me back in high school, but never really had a chance. Well, I just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Heger family. I am so sorry to hear of teh loss of Max. I had heard of his illness and his fight with Cancer. I am sure he put up a great fight. The world is less one great man. He had wisdom, a great love of life, and was compassionate. He opened his arms to new ideas and meeting new people. I was one of them. My only regret is that I did not see him again before he passed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.

Guys, I had not seen Max for some time, since I no longer work in Flagler. This all came as a shock to me, as I so remember Max, all full of life, and his unique ability to be a great friend, and always with a great story. If I don't make it to the funeral, please remember my thoughts and prayers will be with all of you. David Pedersen (Kay Jan)

What an absolute privilege to be a nurse caring for Max. Max's love of his family was always evident. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family at this time.
