I treasure the many memories of your Mother. Leila was always so positive about life, never to complain and always so gracious and concerned for others. In a note she expressed "How could we get by without a loving God, who cares?" She has been very much an inspiration to me an indelible print on my life. Donna Harfert

I was introduced to Leila by my wife more than 30 years ago.I came to know Leila as Grandma like many of you. Grandma was loved by many people. One only has to look at family reunions and how folks would come up to her and ask how she was and how, in the last years of her life, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and close friends were always there, caring and providing for her. It was always all about family, all you had to do was look in Grandma's house, the quilts with the family tree , the peg board with the birth dates of all the grandchildren and great grandchildren and the many pictures that lined the walls and filled the tables. One of the most interesting times I had when I could find an opportunity to talk with Leila alone was to engage in a conversation of how life was years ago. These were never stories they were truths of days gone by, how people lived , how people survived and how people respected each other. I always left the conversation asking myself if our generation could have made it through some of the tough times Grandma Leila had seen over the years. Leila, you have been an inspiration to me, to my wife and to our daughter and for this I thank you. I know your journey now is where you truly want to be but I must say one more time we love you and we will miss you. Ron Light
