I could not have had a better Kresne. He was always there when he was supposed to be. His smile, his humor, his kisses and love will never be forgotten. I was remebered every Birthday and Christmas as a child and we continued with a wonderful relationship as I turned into an adult. Kresne touched my life. I will think of him every time I see a new little tree. Kuma Rita, Steven and Melanie, you are in my prayers.

Dear Evanoika Family, I worked with Steve in the Simla SCS/Double El SCD office in the early/mid 1980's. I will always remember his ear-to-ear smile, friendly manner and how much he cared about people and conservation. He loved and took pride in his work, his family and his friends. With deepest sympathy, Mimi Weaver

I very much wanted to say good bye to Steve in person today but the weather kept me from traveling. Cheryl told me about the trees on the casket and that brought tears to my eyes both of sorrow and joy as I remember Steve's passion for planting trees and his ever-present smile.

My sympathy goes out to you all. Your family is in my prayers. I know you don't know me, but I had the pleasure to work with Steve in Kiowa, Colorado when we worked for the SCS in the 1980's. I too was a Technician and spend many days surveying terraces in the field with Steve. His comment to family and the land will be felt and benefited for many generations. God bless you all, and I know that Steve's place and work now is in the direct light of the lord, and will continue. Levi D. Montoya District Conservationist USDA-NRCS Trinidad Field Office

Rita and Family - As you may remember I worked with Steve for several years in the Kiowa and Castle Rock NRCS offices. I even had the priviledge of being his supervisor. Steve was a joy to work with and even more importantly was just an all around great person. I was saddened to hear of his passing and my prayers are with you all.

Steve will be remembered by me as an extremely hardworking, no nonsense, friendly, gentleman. Steve and his family put in our trees. Steve helped us landscape our yard...he was great to work with. Steve was always a gentleman when I would see him supporting his grandchildren at ball games. I would like to tell Steve's family that I really appreciated your husband, dad, and granddad.
