John, Mary and Joyce, We were saddened to learn about the death of your mother. We learned to know your mother while our Aunt Margaret Hutchinson was still alive. Loretta was Aunt Margaret's roommate at Yuma Life Care Center. When we visited Aunt Margaret, we always enjoyed visiting with Loretta too. Your mother was such a good companion for our Aunt Margaret!! Our family was so impressed that your mother, although wheelchair-bound, wanted to and did make the effort to attend Aunt Margaret's funeral last year with the help of the Yuma Life Care staff. After Aunt Margaret passed away, I visited your mother several times. This early Summer, I stopped by several times to see Loretta; twice she was asleep and one time she was in a class in the dining room. When I read Loretta's obituary in the Yuma Pioneer, I was especially saddened that I did not get to connect with her those last few weeks before she passed away. I should have awakened her from her naps!!! Our thoughts and prayers have been with you during these recent weeks and continue to be with all of you. It was through your mother that we became better acquainted with all of you; for that we are most grateful!! With deepest sympathy, Rollie, Norma and John Deering

Joyce, Mary, and John -- I was saddened to hear about Aunt Loretta, but I have a lot of great memories from visiting her in Stratton and staying at her house -- there was just something "cool" about being at Aunt Loretta's. She and Mom always had such a good time together, and I have some great pictures of the two of them, always laughing. Aunt Loretta had a wonderful sense of humor -- always so much fun to be around. And I loved it when she started going on about the local gossip -- too funny! I know you will miss her terribly, but I take comfort in the fact the the two sisters are together again -- and probably calling us a "bunch of ya-hoos" from heaven. I'm sorry I was unable to attend the funeral, but I will stop at the cemetery the next time I pass through Stratton and pay my respects. Again, you have my deepest sympathy for the loss of your mother. Take care and I will keep all of you -- and our mothers especially -- in my prayers. Love, Colleen

We are keeping all of you in our prayers and know how hard it is to give up your Mother. All the memories of her will help you to share your grief with each other and cherish her life as you each remember it. Each of you were a very caring and loving family with her which should give you peace and comfort. Honor her by continuing to be a close knit family. John & Shari Barker
