Obituary of Dean Henry

Dean Franklin Henry, 68, of Limon, CO passed away December 23, 2007 at his daughter Susanâs home in Longmont, CO.
Dean was born on August 21, 1939 in Genoa, CO to Ray and Zellah (Carter) Henry, the third oldest of eight children. Dean graduated from Genoa Public School in 1958 and then entered military service. Dean spent basic training at Ft. Carson and then was shipped to France for a total of approximately two years spent in the United States military.
Dean married Sharon Kay Simmons in Limon, CO on February 18, 1966 and the couple was blessed with four children, 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Dean and Sharon resided in Limon for the majority of their marriage where Dean worked for Mountain View Electric for 41 years as a lineman. Working as a lineman proved to be a challenge and an adventure as Dean endured a train crash, being stranded in blizzards and almost being electrocuted to death. Dean enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, 4-wheeling, cheering on the Denver Broncos and most of all spending time with his family and children.
Dean was preceded in death by his mother, Zellah Henry, brother, Donald and brother-in-law, Earl Silsbee.
Dean is survived by his father, Ray Henry of Genoa, CO, his beloved wife, Sharon Henry of Limon, CO; sons, Jeff (Peaches) Henry of Denver, CO and Jamie Henry of Longmont, CO; daughters, Debbie(Tom) Raymond of Longmont, CO and Susan Southern of Longmont, CO; four brothers, Delbert (Joyce) Henry of Brush, CO; David (Marg) Henry of Fairbanks, AK; Darroll (Susan) Henry of Tucson, AZ; and Darvon (Laura) Henry of Florissant, CO; two sisters, Donna Silsbee of Flagler, CO and Doris (Bill) Tolley of Fairbanks, AK; thirteen grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and a bunch of friends.
