Margaret Ann (Meyer) Robben was born February 17, 1964 to Norman and Doris Meyer of Bethune, Colorado. Margaret grew up on the family farm north of Bethune.
During her childhood she spent a great deal of her time just up the road at her Uncle Ruebenâs house, where she was showered with lots of TLC by Rueben, Amelia, Alma and Jerry. She was also the apple of her daddyâs eye and was a great part of his world.
She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church north of Bethune where Margaret was raised in the Lutheran faith. It was that faith that she embraced to carried her through lifeâs trials and tribulations.
She attended Bethune School where she enjoyed all the clubs and activities a small school had to offer. Margaret was valedictorian of her graduating class from Bethune High School in 1982. After which she attended Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri.
She was united in marriage to Michael Robben on March 10, 1984. To this union three children were born. Brent Michael Robben, born April 16, 1985, George Alan Robben born January 5, 1988 and Aimee Ann Robben born February 10, 1991.
Margaret loved being a mother and housewife. She enjoyed many forms of crafts including candles, crocheting, canning, and attended several craft fairs. She enjoyed taking walks with friends and family from the time she was young walking the Bethune Highway until she lived across from the park and then walked the sidewalk there. Music was an important part of her life from listening to country, bluegrass, and Christian music at home to memorizing and singing her favorite hymns at church. She served many years on the worship committee at church and had every hymn number memorized. Margaret spent a lot of time cooking and searching for new recipes. Her expertise cooking was enjoyed by many people when she went to work at the Kit Carson County Hospital as dietary aid, where she worked for several years. Margaret loved her job and would even go to work when her health was declining. Her determination continued as she would attend softball games regardless of how she felt. Watching Aimee play softball was one of Margaretâs greatest loves and enjoyed keeping scorebooks for hours during tournaments.
Margaret had a passion for Godâs nature and loved flowers especially her columbines that she raised. She enjoyed watching storms and was known for her tornado chasing. When most people were seeking shelter, she and her boys were out seeking excitement.
Margaret inherited her familyâs great sense of humor, which she passed down to her children. She always looked at life in the most positive way, and when she faced struggles she didn't allow her attitude or the attitude of others to get her down.
Margaret is proceeded in death by: Her father, Norman Meyer of Bethune, Colorado. Grandparents Margaret and Conrad Meyer also of Bethune and Edward and Matilda Colbert of Goodland, Kansas.
