Obituary of Everett King

Everett William “Billâ€? King was born December 22, 1931 in Matheson, Colorado to Jesse Wayne King and Clara Louis (Ashcraft) King and departed this life on February 7, 2008 in Hugo, Colorado. He attended the Holt School, Willow Gulch School and Matheson School. Bill served his country from 1952 to 1954 in Fort Leonardwood, Missouri and in Pusan Korean in the Korean War. He was a member of the Eldon Housh V.F.W. Post #5812. Bill married Dorothy Ann Morrow on October 22, 1955 in Limon, Colorado. The couple moved to Manitou Springs, CO and later moved to their present home in Matheson, CO. Bill worked on the Claude McCall Farm, Wes Maranville Farm, Fred Isgar Telephone, White Ash Coal Mine, Tom Lasater Ranch, OK Hamacher Wells, Kincade Truck Line, Wheat harvesting with Bill Ralston, Tomlinson Geographical Construction, Colorado State Highway Department, Elbert County and Nichol’s Tillage Tool. Bill was always fascinated with airplanes and built remote controlled ones to fly. He was riding motorcycles before he was able to hold one up. He loved to travel, dance, reminisce and was noted for his ability of remembering a joke to tell. His children and grandchildren were always the love of his life. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Jesse Wayne King Jr. Bill is survived by his wife Dorothy of Matheson, CO, two children LaRaine (Dave) Shaffer of Colorado Springs, CO, and Lawrence (Denise) King of Ellicott, CO, four grandchildren Patricia (Kevin) Gibson and James Dole of Evans, CO, Nicholas and Louanne King of Ellicott, CO. One brother Kenneth (Annie) King of Longmont, CO, his mother-in-law Lucille Morrow of Limon, CO, four sisters-in-laws; Velma Monks of Fountain Hills, AZ, Eileen nelson of Westminster, CO, Ella Mae Beckett of Greeley, CO, LaWanda (John) Heim of Littleton, CO as well as numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and other family members. Memorial graveside services for Bill will be held at the Simla Cemetery in Simla, CO on Tuesday February 12, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. with Jerry Allen, Officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Lincoln Community Hospital P.O. Box 248, Hugo, CO 80821.
