Obituary of Grace Weisdorfer

View Video Tribute Zelma Grace Hirschler Weisdorfer, one of eight children was born September 19, 1913 at Utica, Kansas to Abram Daniel Hirschler and Flora Isabell Maddy Hirschler. Grace moved to Colorado with her mother and older sister and brother and one younger sister, in 1918 - meeting her father who had homesteaded land south of Galatea in the Blacklake community. She attended a small country school thru the eighth grade. On September 29, 1931, she married Lawrence Arnold Weisdorfer at Eads Colorado. The couple moved to several jobs, returning to Eads and began farming the farm at Prairie Queen in 1935. Lawrence and Grace had 6 children, Alice Jean in 1933, Donald Ray in 1934 - deceased as an infant, Joyce Ione 1935, deceased as an infant, Selma Louise 1939, Larry Robert 1941 and Danny Lee in 1944. The family resided at the farm until 1947. They moved to Parker, CO for one year and then on to Denver in 1948. Lawrence became a master plumber and they owned and operated their own business in Arvada. In 1964 the couple moved back to Eads and bought the Gamble store and continued to run a plumbing business. In 1969 the farm beckoned again and they moved back to Prairie Queen. They moved to Limon in 1975 and in 1976 they built and moved into their dream home. Again the farm beckoned and they moved to Kit Carson in 1978 and remained there until they could no longer take care of the farm. They moved back to Eads in 1983 and in 1985 their health deteriorated to the point they needed to be with help so they moved to Limon with Jean Nordick in 1985 and in 1993 Lawrence had to be placed in a nursing home and upon his passing in Feb 1994, grace returned to Limon and remained their until her death. Grace was a loyal and a very supportive wife, she was a great mom and grandma and will be sadly missed by all. She chose to serve the Lord in 1970 and remained active and faithful till her passing. Proceeding her in death were her parents Abram & Flora Hirschler her husband Lawrence and her two infant children Donald Ray and Joyce lone, her Brothers, Ralph, Elvis, Elvin and her sisters, Pearl, Freda, Roena and Leila. Grandchildren, Larice Johnson, Charlene Sparks, Lori Ellen Davis, Danny and Monte Weisdorfer and one great grandson Jacob Wuckert. Those left to mourn are Jean Nordick (Willard), Louise McCrary (Marvin), LarryWeisdorfer (Ginny), Danny Weisdorfer (Lois). Also surviving are Grandchildren Luanne Kuchar, Tom Hoffman, Lisa Davis, Terri Igou, Kerry Nordick, Lynette Hays, Patrick & Jim Weisdorfer, John Wiechman, 28 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday June 7, 2008 at the Love Funeral Home Chapel, a graveside service was held 3:00 P.M. at the Eads Cemetery in Eads, Colorado following the service. Visitation will be Saturday June 7, 2008 from 11:00 to 12:00 following the service and will be at Love Funeral Home in Limon, Colorado Graveside Services will be held Saturday June 7, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. at the Eads Cemetery in Eads, Colorado Memorial Contributions can be made to a donation of choice in memory of Grace Weisdorfer
