Obituary of Garrett Mullin

Garrett M. “Busterâ€? Mullin, age 76, of Limon, Colorado passed away June 25, 2008, at Limon. Buster was born November 13, 1931 in Limon to John Patrick and Susan Agatha (Spurlock) Mullin. He was one of three children. In 1942 when he was only eleven years old Buster attempted to join the Navy to serve his country during World War II. Though his efforts were denied he did have a newspaper article written about him in the Denver Post. Buster attended school in Limon. Following high school, Buster worked in construction, and was also a custodian at Hoffman Drug and the produce manager at Limon Super Foods. His hobbies included cars and motorcycles, hunting, fishing, shooting trap as well as gardening and his orchard of fruit trees. Buster also enjoyed acapella and instrumental music, collecting stamps and photography. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Church of Christ. Buster was a former paramedic and one of the first ambulance drivers for the town of Limon. Buster was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-laws Benjamin Curtis, James Kemp and two nephews Rodney and Ronald Elliott. He is survived by his sisters, Margaret Curtis of Broomfield, CO and Mary Ann Kemp of Aurora, CO. Also surviving are six nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at the Love Funeral Home Chapel in Limon. Burial of cremains will be held at a later date.
