Danny, Steve and Gary- I am so sorry for your loss and truly wish I knew the words to comfort you. Your mom was one awesome lady! I always felt welcome and comfortable at your Mom and Dad's house-especially in the winter with the wood stove to stand over :) I have many great memories of hanging out there, eating supper with them. Your mom is who taught me what little I know about thunderstorms, hail and tornadoes. She explained it in terms I could actually understand! (and you know...that can be quite an accomplishment! LOL) She and I had a few "girl" talks through my high school years, she gave me guidance without being condemming-I always felt I could trust her. I regret not staying in touch ...it seems the years fly by with good intentions that are not carried out. I'm sure this has been a difficult month for all of you, and some days...weeks, months, even years from now you will still miss her painfully bad. I don't pretend to understand, like or agree with Gods timing- but I trust that He has a better plan than I could ever come up with. Jesus has carried me through many tragedies over the years, I trust He is there for you. Since I heard of Kathy's death, you're all on my mind and in in my prayers.

My condolences to Kathy's family and friends. Kathy was my co-worker and boss back when there was a National Weather Service office in Limon. I'll always remember her stories, in particular her confrontations with the snakes! She was a good person and will be missed. Kathy, this one's for you!

To the Butler Family, I am so very saddened to hear about the passing of Kathy. I was honored and privaleged to work alongside of her when I was serving as the Director of the National Weather Service Office in North Platte, Nebraska. Kathy will be sorely missed. She was one in a million, and had that rare gift of being extremely focused and dedicated to her job and the people around her, yet never took herself too seriously. She was always bright, uplifting, engaging, humble, and supportive to all that knew her. She worked her way all the way up the corporate ladder - starting in the NWS as a janitor, and finishing her career as supervisor, leader, manager, and mentor to the entire Data Acquisition unit; and was nationally renown for her contributuons toward the enhancement of Automated Weather Observing System now in use at most major airports across the nation. I will miss Kathy terribly. She have made a huge positive impact on my life - for which I will always be grateful.

Dear Butler & Gotto family: I was sad to learn of Kathy's passing and want you to know I am thinking of you. Kathy was a classmate of mine and I was privileged to visit with her during our 50th class reunion last September. She was a proud mom and treasured her family. May you find comfort and peace in your sorrow. Sincerely, Bobbie Weber (Sober)

I have many fond memories of Kathy, including going to twirling lessons. As I am experiencing the loss of my mother at the same time, I know that it leaves a loneliness unlike any other. I would love to see you again, Keith - I know our classmates all care about each other. Cynthia

Steve, I'm so sorry to hear that you also lost your mother. It's been pretty hard for us, so I can imagine the pain you are feeling as well. All my sisters mentioned how your mom taught us to twirl...Cynthia seemed to remember it very vividly. God Bless You All at this time...

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Kathy's Family. I was deeply saddened to hear of her passing. I work for the National Weather Service where I got to know Kathy. She was greatly admired by everyone. The story of how Kathy became a part of the NWS family and worked her way to becoming the Manager at two NWS Offices has been retold many times...a truly remarkable lady!

Danny, Steve & family members, Kathy lived life the way she wanted and enjoyed it to the fullest. I'll always remember her smiles while in a boat or thinking of fishing. While I have worked with Kathy in the past I considered her and Rick great friends. Words can never truly express the loss of a loved one especially one's mother. Your all in our thoughts and prayers.
