Obituary of Rita Bradberry

View Video Tribute Rita Bradberry 78, of Limon, Colorado passed away July 11, 2008 at the Lincoln County Hospital in Hugo, Colorado. Rita was born on April 25, 1930 in Matheson, Colorado to Paul and Anna (Calkum) Hoefler. She attended school at Midway School through the 8th grade and graduated from Simla High School. She married Clovis Bradberry on May 1, 1949 in Matheson, Colorado, wherethree of their five children were born, Gary, Joyce, and Annette. Cynthiaand Lisa were born after the family moved to Limon in 1957. Rita worked at the Limon Child Development Center as an aide. She had also been a Home Day Care Provider, and worked for Limon Public Schools as a cook for 30 years. Rita was devoted to her Catholic faith, and was an activemember of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Parish. She was a caring and thoughtful member of the community, where she volunteered for innumerable community services, including Catholic Ladies Sodality, Limon Heritage Society, Hub city Seniors, the RSVP sing-a-long, and volunteer services atthe Limon Correctional Facility and local Nursing Homes. She enjoyed square dancing, quilting, embroidering, crocheting, singing, and playing the piano. More than anything Rita was a caring Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Faith and family were undoubtedly the most important parts of Rita’s life. She was preceded in death by her Father Paul John Hoefler, Mother Anna (Calkum) Hoefler, her brother Lawrence, and sister Dorothy. Rita is survived by her husband Clovis Bradberry of Limon, CO, five children; Gary (Becky) Bradberry of Walsenburg, CO, Joyce (Ronnie) Yaden of Pensacola, FL, Annette (Keith) Andersen of Limon, CO, Cynthia (Mark) Otteman of Flager, CO and Lisa (Floyd) Foncannon of Loveland, CO. Ten grandchildren; Jason, Cheryl, Brian, Alicia, Angela, Jennifer, Alana, James, Jacob, and Joey: five great-grandchildren; Andrew, Alex, Ashley, Brenna Rose, and Briana. Also surviving is one brother Leo Hoefler, four sisters Pauline Maurer, Agnes Pond, Martha Hendrix and Mary Mikita. A Mass of Christian Burial was held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday July 16, 2008 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Memorials may be made to a Catholic Charity of Donor’s Choice c/o Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church P.O. Box 790 Limon, CO 80828.
