Here it is July 2010 and John is missed...It was a hard year as his classmates completed their tasks with basketball, football and graduation. The thoughts of John were strong at every event, no doubt he is always going to be a part of us all until the day we all pass on ourselves. I see his parents, sister and many friends that continue to keep your memory fresh. John you left some many tracks in such a small amount of time! We miss you John!

Hey guys, I wanted to say that I am very sorry I was not able to attend John's funeral, I do regret not being there. After hours of thought, I can not think of a happier kid than John. He was an extremely hard worker, and was a real joy to be around. He was also one of the few people who would stop on the road just to visit, which always was a nice break from whatever I was doing. I believe he had one heck of a future ahead of him and I know he will be dearly missed by everyone that had the chance to meet him. I am very sad that he was taken at such a young age, he had a beautiful personality, a great future. Again I am sorry, and if you every need anything don't think twice about calling me anytime........RIP Johnny, we love you. Love, Aaron Kravig

I think the only time John was ever late was his arrival into the world. I remember it like it was yesterday. How lucky we were to add you to our family. A beautiful little boy, a handsom young man, a caring, loving human being who took care of us all. I will never forget you getting off the bus to stay with me after school proudly walking up the walk. You trying to talk the guys into taking you with them to check cows or farm and no way could they work on an engine without you. You would just show up to help me with all those bottle calves Randy and Ty brought home. There are a million memories that flash through my mind right up to seeing you win that chair at the fair and hearing you talk about your football team and seeing the joy you took in Randy's sunflowers. I was proud that you wanted me to cook for the 4-H club again. I miss you already more than I can express and just like everyone else I love you now and for always.

When I think about John two phrases come to mind. One of John's favorites... leave it on the court, and one of mine... no regrets. These two phrases speak so loudly to me because John's family never wavered from these two things when it came to him. I mourn the loss of John more than words can say, but I can say with great certainty that there were no regrets about the love given to John or the love he showed in return. John left everything on the court when it came to his faith, his family, his friends, his sports, and his life. That is why he will be missed so much and never forgotten. Many of us try all our lives to figure these two things out, but in John's 16 years he seemed to have mastered it. Love Always Aunt Kirsten (Uncle Jason and Tucker)

John, was "Johnny", to me, even after he out grew that sweet boyhood nickname. I think the time John most touched me, was when he came with Jeff for a visit. They'd worked all morning hauling and shoveling gravel for our driveway and yet, when I began to do the chores, he immediately set his shovel down to help. I filled a bucket with water and began to carry it. John, without being asked, came and took the bucket out of my hand and carried it for me, giving me that sweet grin of his as he did so. He was only 14 at the time, yet, he already knew how to be a gentleman. He wasn't afraid of hard work and his simple act of courtesy will stick with me forever. My girls helped show John's cows once and from that moment on, they were hooked. Their first fair, John drove down and made sure he taught the girls everything he knew about showing cattle. Every fair after, he'd call, making sure they had every thing they needed. The last time I talked to him, he was calling to make sure we were ready for fair. I treasure every minute of that last call with him. His simple act of courtesy will stick with me forever. His kind gentle ways will stick with me forever. His memory will stick with me forever. Mostly my love for him will last forever. I love you, John. ~Love, Aunt Jeri

Jeff, Tammy, and Elizabeth Our hearts break for you. John was a bright spot in the lives of everyone he met. We would like to share a poem that comforted us after a recent loss. Do not stand on my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep, I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glint on the snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle Autumn rain. When you walk in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circle flight, I am the soft stars that shine at night, Do not stand on my grave and cry, I am not there ..... I did not die. Please know that our prayers will be with you now and in the future.
