Obituary of Sylvia Fox

Sylvia Blanche Benoit was born March 16, 1914 to Corrine and Sylvio Benoit in De Mar Kansas. She left this world August 14, 2008 to be with her family and friends in heaven. She was 94 years old. On November 27, 1934 she was married to Ralph Fox. To this union was born 7 sons. Robert and wife Donna of Vona, Colorado, Jerome and wife Jan of Lowell, Arkansas, Darrell and wife Cecilia of Stratton, Colorado, Jerry and wife Julia of Stratton, Colorado, John and wife Patty of DeRidder, LA, Harry and wife Carol of Stratton, Colorado. Sylvia worked 20 years for the Stratton School District as cook in the lunch room. She spent the last 5 years in the Bee Hive. She had 61 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Other survivors include 2 brothers; Harold and Leo Benoit and 3 sisters Aurlia Schultz, Maria Curmode and Mary Lou McCall all of Wichita, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, one son Charles, 2 brothers Dale and Don Benoit, and 4 sisters, Margarete Davis, Theresa Raines, Bernice Dellaquila, and Viola Emley. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, August 18, 2008 at 9:00 AM at the St. Charles Catholic Church with Father Greg Adolf officiating. Burial followed at the Calvary Cemetery, Stratton, Colorado. Visitation was held on Sunday, August 17, 2008 at the St. Charles Catholic Church from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a Parish Rosary held at 7:00 PM. Pallbearers were grandsons, Don Fox, Larry Fox, Brian Fox, John Fox, Mike Fox and Jim Fox. Organist was Staci Brachtenbach and Barbara Rueb was soloist. Memorials may be made in Sylvia’s name to the St. Charles Catholic Church Building Fund and may be left at the Colorado East Bank and Trust, Stratton, Colorado. To My Other Mother You are the other mother I received The day I wed your son And I just want to thank you, Mom For the loving things you’ve done You’re given me a gracious man With whom I share my life You are his lovely mother And I his lucky wife You used to pat his little head And now I hold his hand You raised in love a little boy And then gave me the man
