Obituary of Mildred Smiley

Mildred Smiley, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2015, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Mildred, known as Millie (a.k.a. Aunt Millie) loved reading and playing her game boy. She was passionate about her golf game, and formed many close friendships on the course. Gifted with a sense of humor, she never hesitated to share it with those around her. Her canine companion, Angel, brought her a shared time of unconditional love. She cherished her friends and family, as they cherished her. Mildred is survived by her children: Gary and Denise Smiley (Robert Smiley and family, Tiffeny Smiley and Dave See, Megan, Hanna and Logan Jones), Tammy Smiley and Cris Mireles (Nicholas and Anna Smiley-Kallas), Amber Harrison (Sean, Kiera, and Berlynn), Crystal and Mike Downey (Leyna and Noah) and Greg Smiley. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd W. Smiley, and son Boyd G. Smiley. Her loss is deeply felt. Born in the Denver area, she was a city girl. She moved to Limon, CO, as a teenager, where she met and married Lloyd Smiley. She began her married life on Lloyd’s family ranch and dove into the country life with him and their children. Millie spent some time living in Billings, MT, however, was beckoned back to Colorado where she lived out the rest of her life in the Denver metro area. She worked for JC Penney and The State of Colorado. Her relationship with God was important to her, and she shared that love by being a Sunday school teacher and Church Camp counselor. She loved God and is now in his loving arms We say good bye to a loving daughter, wife, mother, aunt and friend.
