We have very fond memories of Frank (and of course Dorothy), going back to 1952 when our family of 8 moved in with you, with your family of 6, in a small 2 bedroom farmhouse. We were there for 4 months, while my Father was recovering from Tuberculosis and he could get well enough to find a job and move to Denver. I can't imagine doing something like that today, no running water, kids sleeping all over the floor, feeding 14 people 3 times a day, baths in the wellhouse. Your family was very gracious to take us in, and we will be forever grateful. We also have many other memories from our many visits to the Farm, and to the square dances in Arriba. Frank played the guitar, and sang, and we thought it was just great. He knew many other ways of entertaining kids as well, pulling kids on sleds and wagons with the tractor or old Fleet, softball in the farmyard, his contagious laugh while he was picking on us, riding in the back of the pickup, scooping out the barn, squirting us with milk when he was milking the cows, sliding down the hay stack in the barn, shooting birds with a BB Gun, and many, many other fond memories. Those are childhood memories we will never forget, and we will be forever grateful for your hospitality and the memories. Frank will certainly be missed by us, except in our memories.
